No incoming or out going calls

Earlier this morning my family and I (all virgin mobile phones) were not able to make or receive calls here in the NYC area.The problem seems to have been fixed,But I'm just wondering how many others were affected & does any one know what happened.?

Same thing happened to me last month for about a week. VM said it was changes/fixes to tower in my area. I could receive and send calls when in other areas but not in mine which indicated it was the tower near where I live. Do your phones work outside your area?

Thanks for your reply. And yes the phones did work out of our area. Which lead me to believe that there was some sort of tower problems in our area. I'm just kind of surprised that not many others noticed/ complained.

Think we are getting used to so many outages and problems that we just don't post unless it is unusual. I am not happy with VM but no one else has a plan exactly like I want. Most of the other providers seem to have problems also. Just depends on where you live I guess...

Probably part of the Network Vision build out, we have to deal with the pain to get the gain.
