Help no internet after update March 13th 2016

Yesterday I received a message to update my Samsung Tablet 10.1 2014 edition and clicked on it only to find out I can not access the internet any more. Tried everything short of resetting, sim in out, restart router and tablet, etc.
Never ever will make an update if this is the result.

Looks like a faulty installation. Updates don't usually do this. But if something occurred in the middle of downloading the update file or during installation, or there is a corrupted file from previous firmware that didn't get overwritten, then stuff can occur.

It is actually advised to do a full reset before and after updates.

Check the tablet's date and time are correct, as that can cause problems with SSL. Things like Google and Facebook use secure HTTPS connections, and if the device's date and time are incorrect usually they won't load.

The update can cause them to be wrong.
