Help No KIES in my Samsung Galaxy S2

I can't find KIES on my Samsung Galaxy S2 phone. There is Kies air but I don't think that is the same thing. I bought the phone from India and it is running the stock rom.

That's Kies for my desktop, is there no Kies for the phone?

Does it need to be installed on the phone? I know with my handset, I only need to install HTC Sync on the PC and not on the handset itself. It can "manage" the handset without having an app on it.

I presume Kies would work in a similar fashion?

I guess that was the intention, but many people (including me) can't get Kies Air to work

You just need WiFi in your house to get Kies to work. Connect phone and desktop to the same WiFi, turn on Kies Air and it'll tell you to what address you need to go to access your phone; it is usually 192.168.x.x. Then you can access the files in your phone through your desktop browser without installing Kies on your desktop.
