Not really a surprise though, it's been pretty well known for a while that 4.2.2 was the last official update.

A lot of the visual/UI changes will probably only apply to Nexus devices though.

Sense 4.4 ROMs so far do not include ART either.

A post here HTC One X may get Android 4.4 KitKat in the U.S. after all : Mobile : Mobile & Apps suggesting that One X owners in the US may get 4.4 after all as these phones use a Qualcomm chip. International versions using Nvidia however won't get the upgrade. Oh well, not that bothered anyway tbh, the phone works well as it is for me on 4.2.2/Sense 5.

Then what was the point of HTC coming out with this in a news brief ?

Why mention anything at all about it if they had no intentions in the first place ?

Just to piss off One X owners ? Not real good marketing ya think ?

I dunno, you'd have to ask them. I personally think they were writing cheques that could never be cashed.
