No microphone icon on keyboard ??

Using the default keyboard I have no voice Mic icon.

in options voice support is enabled as is show voice on keyboard. Just not there anyone else seeing this or anyone know what I'm doin wrong ?

I like to speak for short things like sms and short emails but can not find the microphone icon on the keyboard. I see in the settings it shows a checkmark next to show microphone on keyboard but still nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Rich

I found it. :D

You need to hold down the settings icon on the keyboard, then it turns into the microphone icon.

Or you can press the settings button on the keyboard, scroll to and check the 'show voice entry button on keyboard'. Then you've got a permanent button for it .

This is a real problem for me as well, as I used this feature on my old phone all the time. Also the right, left and up and down arrows are not on this keyboard, another feature sorely missed.

This seems like it would be the answer and was one of the first things I did. Sadly it doesn't seem to do anything.

That still doesn't do it. The voice input button shares the settings button, so you have to long press the settings button, select the mic icon and then the mic icon will stay there in that place. You then need to do the same in reverse if you want to access settings.

Try Perfect Keyboard. It has a mic button on the keyboard, and you can swipe up on the spacebar to toggle arrow keys on the bottom row. It's my favourite keyboard so far. Word predictions are very good, and the layout is very customizable - change key size and spacing.

This is easy enough to do once you get used to it. It was just hard to figure out where it was in the beginning.

When I first got the phone, there was a Mic button right next to the Settings button on the keyboard, and I didn't want it there, so I went into that menu to remove it. But you're completely right about getting it back. I just tried re-checking it and there's no button to be seen. Most unusual.
