That happened to me too. I honestly have no solution except to uninstall handcent and try again. at the point that I had that problem, I was SBFing once or twice a day anyway, so I'm not sure what actually fixed it, sorry.

a reboot usually fixed the double sending for me
Ok. Also whenever I open handcent the screen gets significantly brighter. I tried lookin at settingsbut couldn't find anything.
Handcent has a new setting that adjusts the brightness based on the time
check under Settings, Application Settings, Display Mode
Hhmm, checked it and it was on normal mode.
I think it might be buggy. Try emailing the dev.
Ok. By any chance do you know how to change the notification for a message that does not send? Handcent chose a random song from my library and will play the ENTIRE song for one non sent message if I don't notice and pick the phone up to stop it. Can't find the settings for it

If I go into handcent and go to settings, notification settings, at the very bottom is Fail Notification, and you can set your sound for a failed message. Mine is currently set to silent.
