Hi all, in major need of some help.
I updated my SGSII wednesday evening through kies, everything went fine, just a run of the mill update. But after i noticed i have no network connection at all. There aren't any insert sim warnings anywhere, i just have a circle with a diagonal line through it in the notification bar where the signal bars usually sit. If i hold the power button to bring up the shut down/flight mode menu, the data network mode is disabled, if i enable it from there nothing happens. If i go into settings/wireless and network and select mobile network, a box pops up saying "insert sim card to access network services". WiFi works, everything else works fine, i just have no network access.
Before updating i was on firmware KE7 and the update took me too KI4, but i have been unable to find any other cases of this problem elsewhere on the net. I have tried my sim in another phone and it works and tried other sims in my SII but still no network. I thought it had to be some problem with the firmware so i decided to root and install a fresh version of original KI4 but it was still the same. So i then rolled it back to KE7 original but still no luck. So right now my kernal version is XWKE7 but Android version is still showing as 2.3.4 and build number as XWKI4, should these of rolled back also or is that not possible? Im not sure what to do next, im relatively tech savvy but all this rooting i looked into for the first time tonight, did it no problem, was pretty easy but maybe im missing something? I have been waiting for a stable build of CM7 so was going to put that on next to see if it helps, what does everyone think, godd idea/bad idea? I wanted rid of touchwiz but at this point i just want my network connection back as i currently have a 4.3" wifi only tablet lol. So any suggestions would be great.
