Help No Network Problem!

Hi guys

I have a HTC Desire on orange and everything has been fine until last week.
I lost all signal after replacing the screen and when i try and search for a network I get a message saying 'your sim card does not allow you to connect to this network'

Iv tried the sim card in another phone and its working fine, I also tried my works sim card and this has the same issue. Iv also noticed that if I try and switch to gsm it wont let me and it just switches back to gsm/wcdma auto.
Iv tried rebooting, switching between aeroplane mode and turning the radio on and off but nothing works. Although when I was switching on and off aeroplane mode the signal came back for a bit, I could not make calls then this goes again.

At the moment the phone is usless (apart from wifi). This is driving me nuts has anyone got any ideas what what could be the problem??

Cheers

Andy

Hello andygore. The key phrase in your post is "...I lost all signal after replacing the screen.."

There is apparently damage/disconnection at some region of the circuit that provides network connection. If that is the case, of course the only remedy would be to have a tech re-work the device, or have it replaced.

I'd take it to a shop/store right away for evaluation by experts.

Thanks for the advice so far guys.

Right I have had the phone in bits again and meticulously rebuild it checking all connections and any breaks, and good news. The phone now finds a signal and shows bars. Although this till will not let me make any calls. When I try to call someone it just hangs up straight away.

Has anyone seen this before?

I have read your problem carefully and I think it is little difficult problem. Before giving any solution according to your problem I want to know which Mobile Phone do you use. Tell me about your phone then I will try to solve your problem.

Hi smethrony, and welcome to AF.

As this is the HTC Desire forum, you can usually assume that the phone is a Desire (though not always! ;)). Andygore says in the first post that that is what he has, specifically a GSM model on the Orange network.
