No new voicemail notifications or appearing in the inbox

It's the Verizon app

I have the Nova launcher. Could that be responsible? I know it prevents app badges in the non premium version.
 
I did. That's why I'm here. They don't have a remedy. They create a ticket, after which I never hear from them again.

I can do a force stop, clear data, and restart the device, after which the inbox displays the later voicemails, but after that, when the next voicemail is recorded, I am required to force stop, clear data, and restart the device all over again.

Just i case the series of events aren't clear, I attempt to "refresh" the inbox

but after about a minute,, the error message with no identifying cause appears

My local verizon store does. You might want to ask them if there is one near you.
Not if it's a warranty issue. There's no shortage of repair shops around, and just like anywhere else, whatever service your local Verizon store renders, you're gonna pay out of pocket.

well they can at least look at it and figure out what is wrong with the device. i don't think it needs repair. your issue could be something that is on their system. it does not hurt to go in and ask for help.
