Help No notification preview when selecting tone on One X

I don't know if it is something wrong with my phone or if there is a setting for it, I can't find out how to get the phone to play a preview when a new notification sound is selected. To play the new sound I have to get someone to send me an SMS or something else that triggers the notification tone. But I find this way quite inconvenient. I cannot find any setting for this, and I cannot find anything on Google, but I hope there is someone else with this issue that can help me.

Edit: my girlfriends phone is working fine and my own has been updated several times.

On mine when you select the notification sound from the list it plays the preview as soon as selected. It only sets the selection once saved.
This is true for both default notification sound and with Gmail notifications.

Have you by chance got your notification volume set too low?

I doubt it. I have no problem hearing the notification sound when I get an SMS. And as I said, when I try to change the notification tone on my girlfriends phone, it plays the "preview-sound" as it should (so it's not like I don't understand how it SHOULD work).

I found out that if I had my "Music, video, games & other media" Volume set to mute, I couldn't hear the preview sound. Makes no sense, until you realize the phone considers any tone Media until it is designated a Notification Sound.

That's what I was going to say. You won't hear a preview if you have your media sound volume at 0.
