Help No option to choose where to save contacts

vblok0910

Newbie
Hi,
When I save a contact on my incredible 2 it does not give me a option on where to save it example: gmail, back up assist or sim card. On my incredible 1 it used to give me the option. Now when I save something its not being backed up through gmail just into the phones memory which doesn't do me any good if I loose my phone, Is anyone else having this issue? Or can anyone help?

Thanks

When you hit save as a new contact. It brings up the screen for their name. Then is says phone, email and all that other info. The info page just below the name is scrollable and where it saves to your phone is just above the phone number. It is there, but for some reason they hide it.

It does let you to choose to save to gmail or SIM. When you go to People and add a new contact, at the top is "Contact type". You can choose to save the contact to your google mail account, Phone, or SIM.

I've been having a similar problem with my newly bought Hero H7000 which is running Android 2.2.1. I started entering contacts, saving them to the phone. And then I was asked to setup my Google account for apps such as Facebook for Android. Since then all new contacts I enter are saved as Google contacts and I don't have the option to save them as phone contacts. I'm not interested in having my contacts backed up to my Google account because I don't email my friends. It's just annoying that I have two sets of contacts now, all of my old contacts 'say' they are now Google contacts but they are separate to any new contacts I have created after setting up my Google account.
