Hello everyone, I'm having a bit of trouble rooting my phone.
It's a T-Mobile Galaxy S2 running stock gingerbread 2.3.6. I get into the Odin Mode on my phone, connect it to my computer, and when I try to download the recovery-cmw-hercules file through the PDA option on Odin, I get a "no PIT partition" error and then it stops, with a nice, big, red "FAIL" in the top box.
I've looked around and can't seem to find anything specific to my phone, and I don't feel it would be a good idea to try to fix it with the solutions found for other models.
Has anyone had any luck fixing this, and by chance, could you explain why this might be happening? If possible, I'd prefer not to lose any of my data on the way to getting this taken care of, but if you have any other ideas, they're more than welcome!
Thanks in advance
EDIT: I also wanted to include that I tried a supposed one-click-script manner of rooting my phone, which failed due to my phone being in "read only" mode. I have "unknown sources" ticked, and "USB debugging" ticked, if that's important at all. Just wanted to include any possibly relevant info towards getting this resolved!
