Help no power-auto shutdown at 17 percent.

Since I use my dear note very intensively, I expected some battery failure sooner or later, but this would be too soon, plus it feels more like a whim than structural failure/wear.

So since a week I would find my tablet powered off if left alone for some hours, wich never occured before. Last couple of days I noticed that it powers off without the normal notice notice at 15 and 5 percent. I would hear the warning bleep and see the 'please charge' screen but on top of that that dreadful powering down message, followed by an eery black silence. :( It was only yesterday I randomly saw that my battery was at 1%. I rushed to the charger and once attached it said 17% again.

So in short: My note ignores the last 15 percent of his battery. How come? Can I fix this?
I should have another month of warranty, but I wont be in this country for another month so I dont think I can get it serviced in time.

Maybe look at your apps to see what is draining battery and not the tablet's battery failure.

? if watching a movie would drain my battery from full to forced shutdown in 3 seconds, that would be a batteryproblem I guess. Even if I would have more than 3 apps active with wifi and bluetooth at the same time, from 17 to 0 in less then 2 seconds is not normal drain.

If it drains from 17 to 0 so quickly, the battery has depleted and the last 17% is non-existent. On laptops I use BatteryBar to verify battery health, not sure if that can be done on Android.

What is your charging routine?

My sons 10.1 has exactly the same issue as this i.e @17%. It started last week. Have noticed that the in built battery state icon now changes from green to yellow to red as the battery runs down. Am guessing this may be related to a recent update which I seem to remember installing.

I have solved this on our tablet. It was one of 2 battery monitor apps we had installed. I removed both and the tablet has returned to normal operation. Strange but I have the same apps still on my Note 2 and that has not had any problems.
