no power button

The struggle that I'm currently going through started about 3 to 4 days ago. The issue is my power button no longer works. When my phone is on and the screen is black, the only way to get it to light up is by plugging it into a charger. After struggling with this the past few days I used an app that apparently drains the battery faster than the charger charges my phone. My phone is now dead and I haven't the slightest clue how to turn it back on, considering. If anyone knows an alternative way to restart my phone without the luxury of a power button that would be prodigious. The only thing I could think of was some how starting it via my desktop or laptop. Can anyone help???

You can charge the phone for 24 hours. (It's off, so it should charge,) Then short the power switch (the thing behind the button) long enough to turn the phone on. You'll have to short it again to turn it off. (The contacts are on the face of the switch that's against the board.)

Easiest way is to have the power switch replaced.
