Help No Reception [Virgin Mobile]

Hello,

Recently I've been experiencing trouble with my Optimus F3 where it would just sit at 0 bars. I'm in an area where I've never had problem with reception, and there are no towers out. Before today this has happened two times but doing a soft reset with my battery fixed it. But yesterday I dropped my phone and I haven't been able to get reception since. Every time I update my profile it won't let me connect to the service provider and I even hard reset my phone and nothing changed. I talked to VM on the phone and he had me type in a ##number# to reset my end to the tower. But that didn't work either so he sent me to a "advanced rep" (yeah right -.-) all she told me was my phones not under warranty and hung up on me. My girlfriend had to leave so I haven't gotten a chance to call again.

I really don't want to buy a new phone as I'm a poor college student...so any advice would be appreciated.

Update: I'm pretty sure it's because of recently dropping my phone my antennas got damaged or something along those lines. VM refuses to have it be replaced under warranty and theres no stores in my area that can fix it (Sprint stores and my local BestBuy say they can't, I haven't checked Target but I feel like that would be a waste of time). So I wonder if there's a way I can manually do this? I really don't want to buy a replacement phone if I don't have to.

Unfortunately, you may have no choice but to replace the phone if the antennas are damaged. VM usually replaces it only if you use their insurance as theirs covers accidental damage. Some stores like Radio Shack have similar plans. It also helps to use an external case and screen protector to protect the phone from accidental falls. I know some people dislike them, but if you can't afford the insurance, then physically protecting the phone is the next best thing to help reduce the damage inflicted on the phone.

I lost my 3G/4G Yesterday June 29th, 2014.

I have no idea why. I haven't dropped my phone, i did connect it to my car through bluetooth for the first time but I don't think that would've been a problem?

I would lose it here and there but for a seconds at a time, nothing bad because it would always come back and i'd be able to use my apps and text/call without a problem.

But yesterday 06/29/14, i wasn't using my phone as much and during the afternoon i noticed i had my bars but my 3G or 4G icons weren't showing. so i tried to get on my apps/internet and it says Offline.

I contacted VM & the same put in ###number# i followed instructions it restarted and all but nothing happened.

I thought maybe there was an outage in my area, but there hasn't been reports, i have to hold off 3-5 days!

I can call and somewhat text, but that's about it. Anybody have this problem?

isilent, did you try toggling the 3G/4G on and off? Occasionally I find myself doing that, and I'm in an area with great reception. Usually works for me. If not, a reboot can also fix the problem. My rooted phone is on the stock V6 update.

I think it's the phone that drops reception in this case, and not so much the cell towers. Being on V6 has improved both my WiFi and 3G/4G reception.

One other note: being on V6 prevents the phone dialer codes from working, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! I actually didn't have much use for them. Considered rolling back to V5, but then I thought, whatever, my radios rock now. :)
