Root No Recovery

Just downgraded my Ace from a custom rom back to stock Gingerbread so i can upgrade to Jelly Bean. down graded success, but then tried to upgrade. I recall not wiping cache etc?
Used Odin to re flash back, no joy. The problem now is i cannot get recovery at all. Done the three button bit, kept fingers on for ages, no show!
Any ideas. just need to see recovery at least.

on my chinise tablet I
press start them volume +menue for 6 sec
then it goes into reboot

Ok thanks, I'll try that. Maybe doing it differently could wake it up.
