My Galaxy Tab has a button you push that does a screenshot right on the tablet, no pc necessary. It makes a jpg in the gallery.
How hard is it to do that for other Android devices?

And isn't there an Android phone that does a screen shot by hitting Home and Up and Down?
It's not worth rooting for this one feature
To the OP, don't stress about it too much. I believe you are getting and ICS update pretty soon. I have the GNex and it is built into ICS. Just press the volume down and power at the same time and hold for ~1 second.
