No S2 from Sprint until the holidays?

Howdy!

Been watching these forums for a while waiting for any inkling of a US release date (ugh). Decided I would jump in after what I heard today. I had a co-worker purchase the Motorola Photon over the weekend from a Sprint store (pretty nice). He asked about the S2 and got a vague statement from the manager saying it wouldn't be released until "The Holidays."

Just wanted to shoot a heads up to any Sprint folks waiting for it to show.

I'm personally waiting for the AT&T version, but this is a bit disheartening. Here's hoping that the one carrier who has been the most tight lipped about it, will be the first to the market with it. They have to start grabbing users prior to the iPhone 5, right??

Thanks for the info, but sadly manager's never have any information worth while. The phone according to all rumors will be released in September.

Hopefully all the other carriers will follow suit.

Even if the manager did know when the phone was going to be released he probably would not be able to talk about it. Or he was just saying something about the SGS2 to make a photon sale... a big rule of selling is sell what you have, not what's coming. Either way, I wouldn't place too much stock in that comment.

I think most US carriers are going to see some variation of this phone drop within the next month based on the rumors, FCC filings, etc..
