Help No Safe To Remove Hardware icon

Galaxy W user's i have a question as the title say there is no green arrow safe to remove icon in my taskbar when i connect my W to pc is that normal??
i have sony x8 and every time i connect it show a icon safe to remove but in my Galaxy W have none icon.. i just concern that it could hurt the phone or my pc coz every time i done transferring data i just pull the USB cable out..

you can safely remove that directly on your phone.,

Settings>Wireless and network>USB utilities>Disconnect
