No service on Galaxy Captivate????

Hello all,

My friend has a Galaxy S Captivate that had a cracked screen. It was replaced without a concern and she then got it unlocked from cellunlocker.net. Since then, no matter which sim card I put in the phone it says "no service" . Does anyone have any suggestions that may help me out?

Thanks.

If it says no service, is the sim card active? If so, make sure that it is in the slot correctly because misaligned pins can cause this. Also, depending on which carrier they're using, the may be require to enter apn settings to help get things going.

Thanks for the reply. I have used active sim cards without success. When I look at the apn settings, they appear to be automatically entered and are correct. Is it possible that there was some damage done while the screen was replaced that caused this?

I suppose it's techincally possible because it's probably unknown how careful the technician who repaired it was. There might be dust or something on the sensor that reads the sim cards. Might be worth it to use a q-tip to clean the sensor area for the sim card and see if that helps?
