Help No signal on Galxy Ace

My son in law has a similar phone to mine, its a Galaxy Ace, unfortunately his job is a plasterer and it had a lost of dust in the speaker phone slot on mini usb, I took it to bits and cleaned it put it back together and it seemed to work OK, after about an hr the signal strengh went to zero and cant make calls, I've checked the readings and his phone and its :
-113dBm 0 asu
mine is:
-83dBm 13 asu, could the antenna have been damaged when I stripped it down?
It had also been updated the day before but it was working after that.
Can anyone help?

haha, sounds like he needs a cheap & cheerful spare phone to wreck at work!!
have you tried it on 2G & 3G to see if it is just a network problem with your carrier? Go to "mobile networks" in settings & tick/untick the "use 2G" box.

1.Data Roaming
2.Use Packet Data
3.Access Point Names
No 2g networks text
4. Network Operators

4.Use only 2g networks (ticked)

My Galaxy works fine, not sure if son in laws had different settings before update.

I've tried the Sim Card from my phone and the phone signal is the same.

I stripped it down today rebuilt it and now its working!!, must have been a bad contact.
