no sim card, but its inserted

why is my phone saying insert sim card. when my sim card is already in my phone. cant make calls no 4g or send or receive texts
 
Try a different SIM card. If that works (if the phone sees the card at all) your SIM card is bad. If not the phone is probably bad.
