no sim card HELP!!!!

I loaded Black Plague and a 3D shell to my LG Esteem worked fine but my wife didn't like it.... The phone is already rooted so I used CWM to recovery the stock Rom... While doing a backup recovery the phone read no sd-ext found then after the boot up.... the phone can't read the sim card and has no service.... Someone please Help me get out of the Dog house with my wife
 
when I do the recovery I forgot to mention I am getting a
sd-ext.img not found. Skipping restore of /sd-ext Restore complete!
 
my phone is messed up. no signal, no sim, and a constant looping message "sorry the process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. please try again.

Hello and welcome to the forums . I see your having a problem with a android device . Now let me hear this correctly you don't have no Sims card and can't get data inside nor outside

Can you try to flash another rom?
this issue arose when you were trying to restore a nandroid backup?
 
Hey! whats up gentalmen? well ok, its like this I have a sim in the phone but the device is reading no sim I also have service but the phone has a X on the reception bars.... I tried to flash another rom, infact I flashed 3 different roms today and still nothing. I flashed from black plague to gingersteem extreme to number 2... and each time I flashed while the rom was installing and it got to sd-ext it says sd-ext not found an it skips loading sd-ext
 
The skipping on sd ext only means that you didn't patron the sd card in clockworkmod . Now the other issue your having has to do with 2 things .first may need to do manual programming with ##626* then you enter that spc number . Then you edit your min:mdn and then the sid .when you hit done the phone cuts off and restarts on its on

I programed my phone about 5 times now manually and about 4 times with LGNPST it still shows number unknow.... funny thing is when I plug it up to LGNPST all the info is right the min,mdn and sid are all correct. but looking under the about this phone setting it says unknown for phone number and network and has a! mark over the sim
