Help No sim card;?

Hi everyone.. This is only my second post here.. It may sound petty but just wondering if it makes a difference.

I just got my Droid 2 Global a week ago. Ordered a sim card for it from verizon and installed it that day. Even though I have the sim card in the phone, it reads "No Sim Card"... any idea what's going on?

does the SIM card actually have your data on it?

At the moment, I have 2 pictures on it and thats it.

This may sound stupid, but are you sure you put it into the SIM slot and not the micro SD slot?
