Root No Skype video chat on MikG 3.1?

So I finally got around to rooting my Evo from froyo2.2. I've been wanting to use Skype for video chats. Everything seems fine with the rooting process. I flashed MikG 3.1 as my first ROM experience. I'm really liking the ROM! I installed the Skype app from the Market...sorry Google Play I tried making a video chat call on Skype and it starts up with the front facing camera operating, but when it connects it shuts off both cameras.

Is there any fix or workarounds for this? I've been wanting to use Skype on my Evo and it was supposed to work on Android 2.3+ I thought?

I wonder if it could be due to a slow Data connection?

It takes quite a bit to keep up with the video chat.
You could also try Gtalk in case it is a conflict between MikG and Skype. MikG 3.1 will have the Video ability built into the Talk app.

That is what I've tried and it works well but I was on 3G and the person I was talking to was on a WiFi connection so my end was laggy.

I have issues with skype on all roms. I use tango works great.
