No sound when making outgoing calls (Motorola G50)

I'm not getting any sound when making outgoing calls on my Motorola G50. No dial tone or voice can be heard. Loudspeaker seems to work and incoming calls seem fine. Anyone got any ideas for a fix, I've seen other threads like cleaning the mic but this seems to have occured after the upgrade to version 12 of android so some kind of software problem.

If it is software, try either rebooting the phone or factory reset it. Not much else you can do. Your last option is to take the phone in to a repair shop.
