Hello runo. It's great to have you join these forums. I hope you will use these forums for all of you Android questions. We don't have a designated discussion area for your new phone. We do have an area just for those devices that we lack a special spot for. You might find some answers by asking for help in that area. Here is a link:

Not having any experience with your phone.. I will take some guesses and hopefully hit on something for you. You might try typing in the number you are trying to text and then see if there is an option to text instead of call. Following that line you should see if texting works. If so it must be something about the numbers in your phone book. You might take a look and see if there is something different about those numbers. One thing to look for would be an area code. Or it might be a 1 before the area code. There is likely some seemingly insignificant difference in the numbers you can text and the numbers you can't. I hope this helps.
