no usb connection

cannot connect LG Lucid VS840 to Windows XP.
Does not detect phone.
One error that comes up is MTP device "cannot install driver"

Tried on a friends Windows 7 system all works flawless.
 
Disconnect the phone from the computer. Go to Samsung Drivers & Downloads - Samsung Click Mobile on the left and Cell Phones on the right. Click Get Drivers. Download the file. Run it. When it finishes, connect the phone.

If that doesn't fix it, post again. (Make a free account so you can post to this thread, so we don't have to go through all of this again.)

Click on Downloads (on the right). Click on Mobile, Cellphones, then choose your phone. Click Go. Under Download, click on Software Update & Drivers Download the USB driver for Windows. Run it. Follow the instructions. Then connect your phone. (I'm leaving the Samsung information for anyone who may need it.)http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-LGVS840#software_panel
