Hi,

I have a Vodafone Joy 845 device running Android. The first time I connected it to my laptop (Win 7 professional 64-bit, SP1) the smartphone was listed at the devices at "My Computer", the drivers were sucessfully installed, and I also installed "PC Suite For Android Handset" to my laptop. Till now everything worked without problem. But now when I reconnect my smartphone at the USB port of the laptop and run PC Suite at the wizard I get the message "No USB device is found". The strange is that again I can access the smartphone through "My computer" as is listed there as device.

Any help?

Thank you in advance,

Vasilis

Welcome to the Android Forums!

The next time you have the phone connected via USB, pull down the notification bar and look to see what mode the phone is connected. It sounds like the phone is connecting in USB drive mode.

Thank you for your reply. I changed the mode of the phone in order to make it a removable disk for file transfer but still the problem occurs. Another strange behaviour is that when i reconnect the phone at the usb port of the laptop, the drivers are trying to be installed again and finally their installation fails. Now, neither at the notification bar of the smartphone there is any indication of USB connection and is not also listed as a device under "My Computer" at the laptop.

Any other idea?

It have uninstalled many times the drivers and PC suite but the problem persists. It make sense to restore the smartphone at the factory default settings and try again to install the drivers and PC suite?

Thank you again for your help.

Try using a different USB port on your computer. You might also want to try rebooting your computer and/or your phone.
