No Vibration When Getting Texts

I just got my HTC Hero on sprint yesterday and I have all the vibration setting ticked but it never vibrates when i get a new text. It only vibrated once when i was on the phone and got a message. How do I fix this?

Open "Messages"

Menu>Settings>Vibrate


Make sure that one is checked.

yea all vibrations in the different notification boxes are checked. And i know it vibrates because it will do it when i am on the phone. I want it to vibrate when the phone is on hold or sleeping

Have you tried Smart Vibrator from the market?

Make sure you are in your "Messages" settings, not just the phone's regular settings. It does make a difference.

I had to return my phone because the vibrating mechanism was faulty. I thought it would be a battery issue. Might take your phone to the store, they should get you a new(refurb) phone for free.
