Help No voice recognition in Galaxy S?

I notice that certain android phones has stock voice recognition built in. For eg, on Nexus if you press the "search" there is a microphone icon. Also, in Handcent under settings, there is an option "Speak" which won't work in Galaxy and will throw up a "Recognizer not present" message. Why did Samsung take out this option? I realise you can install Vlingo in samsung apps but that app is 3rd party and you need to specifically run it. Can we mod the stock built-in recognition back?

I saw it work on a video telling the Galaxy to search for a Starbucks. Dont know if that will include voice texting though as some phones have.

no, what I meant is there is some sort of built in speech recognition is other android phones. Messaging, searching etc can use this speech API but somehow it is not found in the Galaxy.
