Help No Voicemail Alerts

Hello, I just upgraded my Droid 1 to a Droid 2 Global...for some reason I can't seem to get a notification/alert whenever I receive a new voicemail. I don't have visual voicemail...but regardless, there is no alert when I get voicemail...does anyone know how to activate this?

Some users report having notification issues if Google Voice is enabled. The remedy in those cases is, obviously , to turn off GV.

If that is not your situation, I'd double check my menu settings to be sure I have notifications for VM enabled in sounds and display.

Thanks Frisco! I actually called up Verizon and it turns out, I had visual voicemail enabled (which I never did)...so they needed to shut it off, and then the notifications started coming in!
