From some of the other forums, the SGH-I777 (AT&T) battery is NFC and sports an internal antennae and will somehow charge *slightly* differently than a GENERIC after market brand that was earmarked for the SGH-I9100 (international) Galaxy S2 without NFC.
What's the difference as long as they both fit?
Well it does fit, and when either batter is installed on the SGH-I777 you will be able to utilize your phone, HOWEVER, if you plug your phone into a USB cable to charge the *GENERIC* battery, chances are your phone will shut down and restart. I believe the circuitry is different in the generics that do *NOT* support the NFC circuitry...
Just curious if you wouldn't mind posting *AFTER* you received you new battery if the battery can be charged in the handset with the USB cable or will a seperate charger be required... Potential deal breaker for me...
FYI - The URL and SPECS that CaptivateMeNow posted states the battery is a replacement for the I9100 it doesn't mention the I777 and the battery part # is wrong type for the AT&T model... The correct battery type for AT&T is:
EB-L1A2GBA
Thank you in advance!
