Non-standard WiFi Connection

All,

I have the standard LinkSys WR54G wireless router, but I know for security reasons, to never ever set it up using channel 11 and key1, the defaults.

So got my droid smart phone and downloaded over 5 WiFi apps and none will connect to my router, because none allows change of channel or key.

I'm sure there is an app out there with these features. Please send me info on one with these advanced capability.

Well was reading somewhere that the MetroPCS bloat ware, in particular the "EZ Wifi" app, interferes with normal operation of the phone, in this case the WiFi connection, overriding anything you try with another app; and it is suggested to uninstall this app before trying to get others to resolve the problem.

Is this true?

But the catch is I can not find a HOWTO on removing this crap, though a writeup here on this forum, under "One Click Root" says you can delete all the bloat ware, but do not see any instructions on it, and being we are in the Linux world, as Droid OS is Linux, and Linux is picky about things and wrong commands or actions can kill the phone, I need to know exactly how this all works, so I have a clear understanding before I jump off the deep end.
