noob dock quetion

I received my dock for my TF201 yesterday, charged it for somewhere between 9 and 12 hours. The thing definitely received a full charge, I can confirm it. For those interested in getting the dock, I highly recommend it, the thing so far is absolutely wonderful and adds great functionality. With that said, I do have one concern.

I have been trained to believe that you shouldn't charge a battery until it is dead. With that said, the dock charged the battery in my tablet from 56-89% today. Is there a way to prevent the dock from charging the tablet? Is this in fact harmful to the battery life of my tablet like I suspect? For it to constantly get a charge even when it is hasn't run low. I would hope ASUS put some sort of protection against this, but I don't want to take the chance.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Personally I let the tablet charge run down twice before charging it. The only way to prevent the dock from charging the tablet is to not have it docked. The dock will only start charging the tablet once it hits 70% and below. As for whether this causes any issues, who knows...
