Noob Goldcard questions

I cant get AndroidSDK to run, does anyone know if the goldcard helper from the market works?

From what I understand if I use my 16gb card as a gold card, it will still work as a regular memory card?

The number generated by AndroidSDK (market helper in this instance), is unique to your phone and the particular card your using?

How do I know if my goldcard is a goldcard?

Many hours later I tink, I tink, I have my gold card. AndroidSDK just would do its thing so I went to the market and downloaded "Goldcard helper" and it seems to have worked. Re-inserting the card after the Hex editor paste did not prompt a format window, I think I did it.
