Root Noob, Messed up during root HTC ONE SV.

Im a complete noob when it comes to this, please help. I used this method [Tutorial]Root, Unlock, Recovery and flashing a Custom ROM - xda-developers. Anyway I ended up bricking my phone and it took me hours to unbrick. Now if I boot into recovery it just keeps on rebooting over and over showing the HTC Quietly brilliant logo. I think I effed up the recovery because it will not allow me to root. What would be the best method to get this phone rooted in the position that I'm in? Should I go back to the stock, and if so how? Is there a way to proceed from here?

I'm trying to learn.

Well, the instructions you followed are for the one s. This is the one sv. They are two different phones.

if you flashed the recovery for that phone it may be as simple as flashing the correct one (provided you can still get into fastboot)

does it get into fastboot?
Did you successfully unlock the bootloader?

Also since this question is related to root I'm going to go ahead and move it to the all things root section

Yeah I can get into fastboot. Sometimes after a while it will stop seeing my device and I have to restart the computer and the phone. and yeah the bootloader is unlocked

And thanks for putting this in the right place fr me before I got flamed

Another thing is I am unable to find a recovery for the sv. Off to google I go
 
I had originally done this at home. I'm at work and the pc only sees the phone when the OS is running. In fastboot it will not detect the phone. What am I doing wrong?
I'm also getting this message

'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
 
when in fastboot does the phone say 'fastboot usb'?

When you do

What is the output?

do you have all the proper drivers installed?

Do you have htc sync? (if so try removing it)
 
I have no drivers installed. nothing happens when I type that command in.I don't have htc sync. The phone does say fastboot usb in red, the top of the screen says tampered and unlocked

Well, without drivers the phone will not communicate with the computer. Click on the link to the guide above. It has downloads for everything. (drivers, fastboot, Adb, the recovery... Everything you need)

Just skip the part regarding unlocking the bootloader (since you've already done that)
 
Thanks guys! I'm finally rooted. I have a question and it's probably another stupid one. After I rooted the phone I was able to remove a bunch of not needed apps like pre-installed games and such. After I connected to wifi It will push them back onto my phone. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Another thing is I keep losing root access and have to reboot the phone.

the stock kernel has write protection

so until to flash a custom kernel or decide to s-off your device, write protection will not allow you to have freedom..... full freedom of your rooted device

I can't find the stock jelly bean via cwm from ultimate guide of rooting. the link does not work. just wondering do you still have the file? i end up bricked my phone
