Help Noob Odin help

Ok so I finally found a downlaodable version of Odin from xda. Odin3 v1.6 with epic pit. But how do I install it onto my phone ? I have read as much as can find but really unable to understand. So please be gentle on me. Do I need to download the latest stock files and pit as suggested in the all you need to know about dk28? Any advice would be gratefully appriciated as my final goal is to put dk28 on. Thank you

Odin is installed onto your computer, not your device.

I just did this for the first time my self.
There are some pretty good instructions on the XDA site
Samsung Galaxy S/SPH-D700 - XDA-Developers
it has the ODIN info, as well as ROMS you can flash with ODIN.
I hope this helps, it sure helped me flash mine.
