Root Noob question, root help.

Okay, sorry for the question, I'm just new to this whole rooting process. I've had my Droid X for a while, but I just recently rooted it. I tried to install Fission and all I keep getting is
"E: failed to verify whole-life signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted."

Can someone please help?

do you have everything that is necessary to install custom roms, such as Koush's Bootstrapper? And also, make sure you back up everything, because first time you install custom rom on your phone means you have to wipe all data/cache. I recommend you to use Titanium Backup for all the backup you need.

Did you follow the instructions exactly? for fission you have to wipe data/cache and mount system and mount data. Also where did you get the fission file from? 2.2.1 or 2.2.2 check out fission rom manager lite. rom can be found here at bottom of page.
