Help Noob questions please answer

So I obviously have the VM gs2.

1. Can I get a custom recovery from the list off of rom manager (the app) if my build isn't on there (use the i9000) or is this the epic4g?

2. Can I root roms from the i9000 build or will that mess up my phone?

What would you like to do? Can you be more specific? (Rooting the phone for access, Changing the recovery, etc.)

I recommend Philz Touch for custom recovery for the Samsung. The ClockworkMod and Team win did not work for my friend! On that subject, why isn't there a dedicated website for Philz touch. It took him forever to find the right download because of this, no one seems to be consistently hosting a dedicated spot to download this. Lame!

Make sure you use the one designed for your phone (He used Sprint driver for VM phone, this is probably okay!)

Although this particular thread is well over a year old and the OP hasn't been back since Sept. 2014, I would surmise he/she has moved on
