Just checkin' in to say hey. First android phone (Samsung Epic) and love it. Wanted to root it for the wifi tethering, but was too chicken for awhile. Finally bit the bullet on xmas eve & it was fairly painless. Now I'll look around to see what else I can do... 
This forum has already been a wealth of info, even before I got the phone, and I'm sure it will continue to be very helpful.
