Root Nook Reader App (B&N Nook)

Anyone know why the Nook Reader App (I know I'm weird, besides using my rooted Phiremod Color Nook as a tablet, I also like to actually read books on it), looks so much different than the exact same app loaded to my Droid phone?

The Nook app on my Color Nook is actually lacking certain settings and functionality that my Droid phone can do and both are loaded with "B&N Nook" version 2.7.2.12.

Although I only read on my Droid when I'm stuck somewhere and have nothing else to do, I hate to say it but the same app on my Droid is a much better experience than on my actual Nook.

Very frustrating!

Anyone know why?

You could go into settings... apps... find your app and clear data on them so both have the default settings and see if they change their behavior. Of course you'll have to re-enter your login, etc.

Thanks for the idea. Gave it a try but no luck. Really stinks because the app initially displays a screen on my droid with 6 icons (reading now, library, archive, settings, shop and my files), so I can read a 'side loaded' file. But when I start the app on my Nook, it goes straight to the 'library' screen which doesn't allow side-loaded content to be read and doesn't allow certain settings to be modified.

I think it must be an issue with running the B&N Nook application on Cyanogen....

This is no help to you, but I can confirm the same thing. On my NC running CM7, home is the library. On the library screen, the menu soft key doesn't work. On my Samsung Captivate, home is the list of six icons. If I'm on the library list on my phone, choosing menu, then home takes me to the menu screen (reading now, library, archive, settings, show, my files). Don't know why this is. The initial sign on screen was VERY poorly formatted on the NC, so maybe the Nook app just isn't optimized for tablet use.

Try this on your NC: in the top left drop down menu, select my files. You may be able to see your sideloaded items, assuming you've put them in the right place.
