Help Not a good start!

Hi there,

I'm currently stuck at the startup stage of my G1.

I have a gmail account - but it says there is trouble communicating with the Google servers when I try and log in on the phone.

Do I have to do something before this?

Perhaps your data account hasn't been activated yet, give TMobile a call and ask why your data account isn't active. They should be able to have it up and running within an hour.

AGELESS Is right .... TMO may have to remove you from the network and then re-authorize your sim on the network and make sure your data account is listed as active.

I've now got it set up.

The only problem is -- I have a text message from T-Mobile saying I'm about to run out of credit, and may encounter problems ... but I purchased the phone on contract.

I was able to check my email initially, but after reading this text, I can no longer use the internet.

Is this something that will be ironed out, say, in the next hour as it all gets settled down? Or will I need to get in touch with them again?

dial #611# and speak to tech support ... they may give you an 800 number to call ....so the cell can be free for trouble-shooting ....

This is surely something that TMO techies need to handle ..
