The years that Jack and Arnie were in tight competition.... was golf. They paved the way for the others to come. Arnie will remain a legend of the game forever.
I think the comment I heard about Arnie (and one that I wholeheratedly agree with) was that he made golf interesting for those who didn't play the game. R.I.P. Mr. Palmer.
And his wife made the most hilarious comment on TV that I've ever witnessed!
Also Buckwheat Zydeco within the last couple days (not really a fan but I know he was popular so worth a mention).
And if we're including sports figures, over the weekend Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez in a boating accident at 24.

It was a Jeep with a known transmission issue and an associated recall. His family filed a suit against Fiat/Chrysler.
