Sometimes applying an update can be buggy and can be remedied by performing a factory reset or a cache clear. Other times it takes a complete wipe (flash the factory image) to get rid of some of the bugs.
i was hoping it didnt have to go through a factory reset...last time i did that the peoples contact app started malfunctioning...like i when i type in name in messaging app, before it brought up the contact immediately but after reset i had to manually go to contact
