Not charging right

As the title suggests my S3 out of the blue stopped charging right. Plug in at 25% the led light and screen show charging. 5hrs later only at 49% it never was this slow to charge before. Deleted many apps that irecently got and did the battery pull, nothing. Gsam battery says good condition but something is wrong.

I only have the one charger it came with. It just started this after my email got a cold. The notification bar would show the same email everytime I received any email. Open the email app and the notification email wasn't there. Then the daemon notices for sent emails. Thats when it started.

Seems to be OK. There is a few other quirks about the phone but the battery one drives me nuts. I've backed it up to kies and thinking of doing a restore. I Will lose all my apps but not contacts right?

Right, providing your contacts are google contacts not phone contacts. Can also backup sms wirh sms backup+ to gmail.

Its probably worth a reset yeah.

I think I might try another charger first. I'm not sure about the whole google contacts thing. We are moving out of state and can't afford to lose my list now.

Possible you could have an app that is drawing a huge amount of juice from your battery. Go into Settings then battery and tell us what is drawings the most from your batteries. It will show as a bar graph.

I also send the idea you could have a faulty charger and or cable. Also wall chargers that are all hard wired (Not the USB type that plugs into the adapter) tend to charge faster than the USB type of charger.

I had this problem and now its got worse.....

I would get up in the morning after seemingly having charged overnight to find the phone not fully charged so it seemed like slow charging. To remedy this all i did was switch off the charging unplug the phone then plug it all back in and switch it on.

I thought it was maybe my charger or cable or even software related.

However I now have a different issue but i think it started as the same as yours.

So at this moment in time I have two samsung official plugs and four different micro USB cables, and also my ipad charging plug and tried my mates plug but what is happening with my phone is it sometimes wont charge at all and takes some amount of unplugging / plugging in for it to even realise there is a cable plugged into phone.

Sometimes it charges just fine and others times it doesnt charge at all.

My LED light is almost always dull these days - sometimes while charging it can fluctuate between fully bright then dull. Mostly it stays dull.

Im considering getting it booked in for repair as its just not right - I just don't want to end up with a replacement reconditioned device as I have taken good care of this one.

hey bro i had the same issues with my brand new gs3....i struggled with it for a week and a half before i figured out it was the cable. i went out and bought a high speed usb 2.0 cable and used the same plug that came with my phone and haven't had an issue since. you might want to look into getting a new cable. mine was only $20 and its 2x as thick as my original cable that came with my phone. Hope this helps
