Help Not enough space

Silvantor

Lurker
Hello.
How is it possible that even though I have less apps than ever, my storage is still full? Pictures, videos and music are on my SD Card, everything that can be on my SD Card is there. I clear caches and uninstall apps, yet eventually, I still fill my storage. Is there some junk data somewhere that even Clean Master doesn't see? Because this makes no sense. I used to have tons of games and apps and still had space for more. Now I have no games and only the most trivial of apps, yet somehow I have no room for anything.

What can I even do at this point? All the apps I can unistall take about 300Mb of space, which is nothing compared to the other 1,1 GB of space used. I know that the OS is using some space, but what takes up the rest? I can't wrap my head around it, sometimes I am just thinking of restoring factory settings and removing everything, but that can't be the only solution. This makes no sense.

Any ideas?

First idea is to get rid of Clean Master - seriously. Cheetah Mobile are data-slurping spammer who have repeatedly used similar techniques to malware authors to push their apps, including that one. I would never allow any app by them on my phone. See also http://androidforums.com/threads/pu...k-killers-ram-optimizers-and-the-like.896663/

As for the rest, app data & system cache also take upup space. Since we don't know what device you have or what your storage configuration it's hard to give definite advice. The little "storage truth" app mentioned a the sticky thread in this forum will give a clear idea of your actual storage setup.

Yeah, I thought that when I wrote which mobile I am using upon registration that it would appear somewhere. I am using a Sony Experia L (Not the best phone really). And I checked the app in the sticky, but I can't even install it, I can't download anything.
I will remove Clean Master.

Can you use a SD card, if yes app like Link2sd can be used to free internal memory by moving big apps to SD card.
