Help Not enough storage

During applications update error of insufficient internal storage is being encountered. Have tried to uninstall few applications and unwanted files but still no respite.Of total 2 GB device memory 1.5 GB is occupied by applications. What should I do. Help.

I had exactly the same problem and found the solution by googling...In the phone dialler dial *#9900# then select "delete dumpstate/logcat"
