so I tried to make an account for xda on my phone and was greeted with this message.

Sorry, your IP address is blocked from registration. The reason is: Sorry, to prevent spam and abuse, we do not allow registrations from a Sprint Wireless IP.

Someone tell me this is trolling of somesort, why would the block an entire set of phones from a provider? This seems very odd and a little paranoid.

Were you trying to sign up from your phone? Try from a desktop and see if that works.

They dont allow you to sign up with a mobile connection.


Reason being they want your IP address on record if you start funny business. Chads anthrax forums are the same way.
