Help Not getting notifications on wifi

Phone: LG G4
Carrier: Verizon

My phone will not receive emails/snapchats/etc while on WiFi. When I turn off WiFi and the phone connect to 4G, the notifications will flood in. I downloaded a software update on the 11th, but the problem started about a week later. Any tips?

Is it receiving the messages when on WiFi but not notifying you, or not receiving the messages when on WiFi? I'm guessing the latter but your post says the former. Would like to be clear so we know what we are dealing with.

If it's not receiving messages, then it's not getting any internet connection from the WiFi. Are you using your own WiFi at home when this happens?

I can browse and refresh twitter and Facebook, and I can manually refresh my Gmail to receive them. It just doesn't happen automatically. And yes, this is my home WiFi.

I also use an IRC app, and I will get a notification if someone types my username.

The same problem is happening with the WiFi at my school.
